Tomorrow night I'm speaking at the first in a series of creative writing workshops for teens. The topic I'm speaking about is blogging, and while I've created several handouts about blogging best practices for teens, I thought it would be fun to create a sheet with tips from other people who also blog.

BOLTON LANDING: Women from across the country will enjoy a weekend of fitness, fashion, pampering and wellness during Bolton Landing Chamber of Commerce’s 2^nd annual Girlfriends Getaway Bolton Landing to be held May 13-15, 2011 at The Sagamore Resort on Lake George.

The event, which brought together over 100 women from the U.S. and Canada last year, will feature workshops and demonstrations by experts in the areas of yoga, feng shui, meditation, nutrition, gardening, medicinal herbs, social networking, fashion and beauty. There will also be opportunities to take advantage of Bolton Landing’s natural resources with guided hiking tours, a kayaking adventure and paddleboard lessons. 

Keynote speakers include national fitness expert, motivational speaker and TV journalist, Marcie Fraser, as well as Benita Zahn, co-anchor and health reporter at WNYT, the NBC affiliate in Albany, N.Y.

“We have really created a fun, education, relaxing and active weekend for women of all ages,” said Wauneata Waller, of the Bolton Landing Chamber of Commerce.

The weekend will also feature gourmet food, a scavenger hunt, shopping discounts and specially priced three-course meals at area restaurants. Tickets are $90 and may be purchased by calling the Chamber of Commerce.  A $10 discount is being offered through the end of January.
