When I first tell people I blog about pets and animals they usually give me a funny look, but once I explain a little more about my blog My Tail Hurts From Wagging So Much, and the work we try to do to help raise awareness about animal-related issues, they usually get it and understand our passion for making the world a better place for pets and their owners.
If you told me a year ago, heck if you told me nine months, I would be writing about pets and enjoying it so much, I would've laughed in your face and said, "The only animals I will be covering are the ones on Capitol Hill."
Boy was I wrong. And, this weekend was a perfect example of why I'm so happy to be part of the pet bloggers community.
A group of pet bloggers from the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania area gathered in New Jersey for a little dog-friendly pumpkin picking, corn maze walking and to collect donations for a local New York shelter. Some of us had met at BlogPaws, but there was a good amount of people who didn't know each other, yet we all meshed perfectly, because we had a common goal of helping homeless animals.
It was such a great time!
